Toolbox
Founded in 2023 by Artemis Truini (she/they) and Greta Herrin (they/them), The Toolbox Collective was born out of a growing frustration that too often, trans and queer pleasure is relegated to a small corner or a dusty shelf of traditional brick and mortar sex shops. While queer-focused online sex shops have thrived, there are some ways that online retail falls short for these kinds of products. Toys need to be seen and touched, binders and gaffs need to be tried on and fit, and delicate questions need answering by real people that are a part of our community. In addition to the products we sell and the free resources we provide, we host workshops on a wide range of topics and collaborate frequently with queer and trans community events.
OUR MISSION
We strive for an education-first approach to sexual health and pleasure that is by queer and trans community and for the queer and trans community. The Toolbox Collective seeks to bring together its DIY kink, punk, and gender-bending roots to a street-level brick and mortar space in Brooklyn, NY which we are currently in the process of fundraising for!
Wider than just a retail space, we hope our long-term home can be a community space for queer people, trans people, sex workers, gender fuckers, kinksters, sex educactors, and everyone inbetween to come and feel at home.
The Toolbox exists as a bridge between safety, education, health, and pleasure for those missed by the current wave of pleasure shops in NYC.
